Dr.
Fulkerson is a native of Western Kentucky and grew up in a small town. He
pursued undergraduate medical education at the University of Kentucky where
he also completed a PhD in physiology. After completing his PhD and MD, Dr.
Fulkerson moved to Indianapolis with his wife and did residency training in
internal medicine and subsequent fellowship training in pulmonary and
critical care.
Dr. Fulkerson is now faculty in the division of pulmonary and critical care.
He specializes in pulmonary hypertension and exercise physiology. He has
published on the manifestations of metabolic myopathies on exercise testing.
He has spoken locally nationally about exercise testing in the general
pulmonary patient and patients with pulmonary hypertension.
